The 102 rooms are charming and elegant, with black tiles, iPod docking stations and coffee. Unfortunately, thin walls create noise problems for all rooms. Fantastic free offers include extensive hot and cold breakfasts, welcome drinks at a nearby bar and Wi-Fi. While there's no spa, pool, or full restaurant, there is a popular wine bar with outdoor seating on site, as well as a beautiful herb-filled courtyard that provides respite from the crowds outside.

This is a solid choice for those who want to explore the main tourist attractions on foot, and who don't mind a little noise late at night. Travelers looking for a quieter boutique should consider the Inn on San Pietro. Hotel Mazarin is a charming boutique hotel that offers great value for money with its prime location along Bourbon Street's bars and quiet art galleries with regal, elegant decor and affordable prices.
Rooms surround a beautiful brick-paved courtyard with a central fountain, wrought-iron dining, and a tranquil atmosphere that provides a respite from the busy French Quarter. Please note that many events are often held in the courtyard, which restricts access for guests and creates additional noise - but all outdoor events must end by 5pm.

8 p.m., so visitors don't have to worry about being kept from the evening's celebrations. The only other real common areas are a simple breakfast room and a small lobby with a concierge desk in the corner, a jar of madeleines, and silver and gold decor.
Expect to see mostly middle-aged and older couples, along with the occasional business traveler attending conferences in the area. Mazarin is located in the liveliest heart of the French Quarter, just half a block from Bourbon and Royal streets. Chic shops, art galleries and good street musicians can be found in Royal, while adults who like free-flowing cocktails and buzzing sidewalks should head to Bourbon.
The hotel is also within walking distance of streetcars, the Mississippi River and its riverboats, Harrah's Casino, Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, the Insectarium, Jackson Square, Preservation Hall and dozens of world class restaurants. The French Quarter, or Vieux Carré, is a historic neighborhood that spans 12 blocks along the Mississippi River.

Originally settled by the Spanish and then by the French, the district has a variety of architecture, including colorful Creole cottages, gorgeous mansions of the past, intricate iron works and some buildings that date to the end of the 18th century. Up-to-date technology includes iPod docking stations, flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi, as well as coffee machines, mini-fridges with complimentary bottled water, safes, leather couches and desks.
The lockers have bathrobes and slippers, ironing equipment and a hairdryer. Elegant bathrooms have black porcelain tiles, walk-in rainfall showers, and toiletries, but some guests have complained about limited towel hooks and counter space. Upgrades include separate living rooms, furnished balconies or kitchens. As expected for a boutique property, amenities are limited here, with Hotel Mazarin lacking a full restaurant, pool and spa.
