which is far away. Create a scene. The Goodtime Hotel finds its home in South Beach, two blocks west of Ocean Drive. With its pleated front and lots of pastel colors, floral and palm prints, it fits the Art Deco aesthetic of Miami Beach, but adds a fresh vibe (and Beverly Hills glam).

Think millennial pink with peach tones found in nearby buildings, with tons of posters and tiles begging to be Instagrammed, music playing (though, strangely, no Pharrell tracks on the playlist), and a Wes Anderson-inspired library/community; workspace. Visitors enter through a long, plant-filled atrium off Washington Avenue.

Throughout the 266-room property, dozens of young, cool creatives mill about, taking turns tapping away at laptops and lounging on daybeds by the pool. On weekends, there's a line out the door of locals and visitors eager to partake in a Las Vegas-style pool party on the nearby football field-sized deck.

Hosted by local DJs and bigger names like Steve Aoki, these parties are centered around two elevated pools separated by a runway lined with sculptural mint green palm fronds. From banana leaf printed ensembles to fishnet jumpsuits, guests wear glitz throughout the hotel, there's no shortage of statement pieces here.

Located on the open-air Goodtime floor, right next to the pool, there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, accented by brown and white sofas, pink banquette tables and matching wicker chairs, palm-fringed cushions and lots of plants. The breakfast and dinner menu has a Mediterranean bent with dishes like Turkish pides, kebabs and swordfish shawarma.

Don't miss the baklava ice cream sandwich or the cocktails. Farrell himself recommends the Purple Purple Kingdom. Neighborhood/territory. the beach is a major attraction, as long as it's not on the water, it's a five-minute walk to the sand, right off the pedestrianized stretch of Ocean Drive, where you can drink or eat.

from any number of restaurants and bars, walk past the Versace Mansion, and after a day on the water, take in the unique architecture of the Art Deco District. Also within walking distance. Miami favorites like Joe's Stone Crab, La Ventana and Prime 112.

Miami Beach is a short drive and across the MacArthur Causeway you'll find downtown Miami and Little Havana, with Wynwood a short drive north. If you want to visit without a car, it's easy (and cheap) to call a ride share to take you wherever you want to go.

The service. Present but not too proud. I received a few texts throughout my stay that felt like a friend checking up on you to make sure you were enjoying your visit. Casual, cool, and informative, letting us know about things like window service or appetizers.
