At this local favorite, Polynesian-style bungalows are scattered throughout the well-maintained property, many of which overlook the reef and remote lanai.

The rooms are bright and comfortably furnished, the swimming pool is quite nice and the full-service bar is a popular meeting place. The on-site independent restaurant, Hiro's Ohana Grill, serves lunch and dinner with live music. The activities office in the lobby will book any island adventures and beach toys are available for checkout.

We recently stayed at Hotel Moloka'i, the only hotel on the island. Keep scrolling to see our honest Moloka'i hotel review so you can decide if it's right for your vacation. You will be able to find out everything from what we liked and what we didn't like about this hotel, how much it costs per night and whether they have an airport shuttle to take you from Moloka'i airport (MKK).

Absolutely! Most of the places to stay on Moloka'i are holiday rentals, condos, cottages or guesthouses. There are no resorts like on other islands. But no matter where you are on Moloka'i, you'll be blown away by the stunning views and gorgeous beaches. There are some great Moloka'i lodgings.

If you are going to the island from another island in Hawaii (like Maui or Oahu), plan to spend 2-3 days on Moloka'i. However, if your only destination is Moloka'i, you need 5-7 days. YES! It is located on Kamiloloa Beach next to the only coral reef in Hawaii.

It is one of the few Moloka'i Hawaii resorts. Moloka'i Hotel is located in Kaunakakai, in the center of Moloka'i, only 15 minutes from the airport. The address is 1300 Kamehameha V Highway Kaunakakai HI 96748. No. You will need to rent a car or book a Moloka'i taxi to get to Moloka'i Hotel.

Where Is Hotel Moloka’i?

Our room was quite small but the space was used efficiently. We got a room with two double beds and a small flat screen tv with dvd player. There was also an open wardrobe in the corner with an iron and ironing board. Then there were sliding wooden doors that lead to the bathroom and kitchenette.

The kitchenette occupies a corner and is equipped with several hobs, a microwave and a small fridge. There is also a small sink. Right next to it is a sink, then a toilet and a shower with a bathtub. It looks full but actually works very well.

This is just one of the many floor plans they have at Moloka'i Hotel. You are sure to find a room that works best for your family. But you'll want to book it in advance to catch it before someone else does! There is a restaurant/bar on site called Hiro's Ohana Grill.

When I say it's an oceanfront restaurant, I mean you can easily throw your fork straight into the ocean. It's amazing how close! The food is quite good. I ordered the daily seafood pasta special and it was filled with shrimp, scallops and lobster. The sauce was super good and the spaghetti was perfectly cooked.

Does Hotel Moloka’i Have An Airport Shuttle?

And it came with the tastiest garlic toast. I also have to mention the drinks. They make amazing tropical smoothies that taste as good as they look! You will definitely want to book dinner here for at least one night. This way, you'll be able to enjoy the amazing Moloka'i sunset as you dine.

The view is simply breathtaking. Moloka'i also has a small swimming pool. The water was quite cold in March but was perfect for dipping your toes in the water. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool. My mom sat on one and said it was uncomfortable.

I haven't tried it myself. Moloka'i Hotel is located right on the beach. There is a small path you can go down to the beach if you want to check out. It's not the cleanest sand, but it's definitely worth seeing. If you're looking for things to do in Moloka'i, you'll appreciate having a tour desk on site.

Is there someone who can help arrange tours or help with scheduling the day. Something I have to mention is that there are a TON of hammocks around Hotel Moloka'i. We had one right outside our room and saw them dotted around the hotel and right next to the beach.

What Was Our Room Like?

There is also a neat laundry room outside. It's really small but you can easily load your laundry and then go to dinner or the pool. There is also a Moloka'i snack, drink and gift shop on site. We saw dried apple bananas made on the island and other delicious treats!

Then they have a place where you can use the computer if you didn't bring one. This is the cutest little outdoor business center and I had to take a picture of it! Moloka'i Hotel offers free parking. It's easy to find a place. We even went out for warm Moloka'i bread and returned around 9pm.

and had no problem finding parking. You definitely want to have realistic expectations when you come to Moloka'i Hotel. This is not a luxury hotel or resort. We definitely had mosquitoes and ants in our room throughout our stay. And everything in our room looked like it had been on a tropical island for a while.

Things in hot, humid, tropical climates tend to age in a certain way. None of this bothered me, but I think it's worth mentioning. Yes! I'm already dreaming about when I can go back and bring the rest of my family. I really like the design of Hotel Moloka'i and it would be great for families traveling together who want their own space but places where they can be together.
